Biography

Clyde Rowden was born on September 24, 1907 in Vienna, Missouri to John Rowden and Lizzie Barnhardt.[1]

Clyde married Helen Scharwarth in 1937.

According to the 1940 census, Clyde lived with Helen and their daughter, Margary, in Union, Missouri.[2]

Clyde died on July 27, 1959 in Union, Missouri.[1]

He is buried in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Union, Missouri.[3]

Clyde N. Rowden, a veteran of World War II, died suddenly at his home in Union on Monday, July 27 at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 3 days. The son of John H. Rowden and his wife, lizzie, nee Barnhardt, he was born at Vienna, and attended the Wheeler School in Maries County. As a young man be went to Kansas City and worked there until 1932 when he moved to Union. In 1937 he was married to Miss Helen Scharwarth at Vienna. They were the parents of five children and made their home in Union. Mr. Rowden was employed by Missouri Valley Creamery and Washington Metal Products Co., at one time and was also self-employed as an electrician. For the past four years he had been employed at Brown Shoe Company in Union. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Union, the Union Saddle Club and local Union No. 231 of shoeworkers.
