Biography

Charles Rowe was born before July 16, 1830 in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, son of John Rowe (~1781– ) and Jane Coad (1782– ).^[1]

In 1841, Charles (10) was living in Wendron, Cornwall with his parents, John (60) and Jane (55); his children, William (15), and Thomas (11); and Nicholas Rowe (15). ^[2]

Charles (23) married Ann Barnard Hodge (19) (born on December 16, 1834 in Wendron, Cornwall; daughter of Richard Hodge and Ann (Barnard) Hodge) on May 17, 1854 in Wendron, Cornwall.^[3]

25 May 1854, one week after their marriage, Charles and Anne boarded the 'William Prowse' at Plymouth and left for Port Adelaide, Aust. arriving on 24 Aug 1854.
