Biography

Charles Rowe was born before July 16, 1830 in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, son of John Rowe (~1781– ) and Jane Coad (1782– ).[1]

In 1841, Charles (10) was living in Wendron, Cornwall with his parents, John (60) and Jane (55); his children, William (15), and Thomas (11); and Nicholas Rowe (15). [2]

Charles (23) married Ann Barnard Hodge (19) (born on December 16, 1834 in Wendron, Cornwall; daughter of Richard Hodge and Ann (Barnard) Hodge) on May 17, 1854 in Wendron, Cornwall.[3]

25 May 1854, one week after their marriage, Charles and Anne boarded the 'William Prowse' at Plymouth and left for Port Adelaide, Aust. arriving on 24 Aug 1854.

Their children born in Australia were:

Charles died on March 24, 1904[4] in Moonta Mines, South Australia, aged 73.[5]
