Biography

This profile is part of the Rowley Name Study.

It is estimated that Valentine Rowell was born between 1565-1570, his parents have not been identified.

He married Elizabeth Hampton on 12 Jan 1591/2 in Mancetter, Warwickshire, England. They had at least six children:^[1]

• Alice
• Elizabeth 1605
• Francis 1608
• Anne 1613

Valentine's will was lost, but probate records still exist. He was buried on 13 September 1613 at Atherstone, Warwickshire, England.^[1]

Elizabeth lived a long life and was buried on 14 Feb 1647/8.^[2]

The probate of Valentine's estate shows that he lived in the village of Atherstone, Warwickshire. It identifies his wife Elizabeth and his children, alive in 1613 as: Thomas, William, Alice, Elizabeth, Francis, and Anne. Of these children only son Thomas chose to immigrate to Massachusetts.^[3]
