Biography

Mary Rowell was born at Salisbury, Massachusetts on January 31, 1650, daughter of Valentine and Joanna (Pinder) Rowell. ^{[1] [2]}

She married Thomas Frame at Amesbury, Massachusetts on September 18, 1673. ^{[3] [2] [4]}

Both she and Thomas were living in 1708; their last appearance in Essex County records was 26 May 1708 when they sold property to Joseph Browne of Newbury; Mary "releasing her dower" so apparently this was property she had inherited presumably from her father (see Holman reference; original source Ipswich Deeds and Essex County Deeds). ^[4]

2. Mary born on March 2, 1674; married first John Colby on December 2, 1702 ^{[3] [4]}; married second, Edward Latimore. ^[2]
3. Hannah born on January 12, 1676/7^[3]; married first John Hartshorn Jr. on March 16, 1695 ^{[1] [4]} ; married second, William Smith. ^[2]
4. Sarah born c 1678; died c 1752; married John Challis at Salisbury on January 26, 1698/9. ^{[3] [1] [2] [4]}
5. Susanna born c 1680; married Caleb Norton on March 6, 1699/1700. ^{[3] [1] [2] [4]}
6. Thomas born c 1684; died on August 30, 1686. ^{[3] [2] [4]}
7. John born c 1685.
8. James born c 1687.

Note that these last 2 children, John and James, appear in many unsourced family trees but there does not appear to be any actual record of them in Amesbury or Essex County records so they should be treated with skepticism unless proven to exist (see Holman's Pillsbury reference below).
