Actually, I've tried to sort this out and think what is here on this site is in error. I believe there were two Hesters - Hester Duckworth who married Thomas Martin and Hester Roundtree who married Thomas Peyton Martin, and they aren't the same person. This site, I believe, has the correct genealogy for Hester Roundtree.

Hester Roundtree was a Roundtree by birth, as her name indicates, not a Duckworth.

Hester the wife of Thomas Martin was the daughter of Jacob Duckworth and his wife Charity, the error of her being a Roundtree comes from the book "Traditions and history of Anderson county", by Louise Ayer Vandiver, this error was addressed by the noted genealogist Roberta Wakefield in the 1950's,she was the editor of the National Genealogical Quarterly and a direct descendant of Thomas Martin and Hester Duckworth, her letter to the publishers came to late to matter, the book was published in 1928,thus the error led to the gravestone with the name Roundree which was placed there after 1928.

There are not two different Hester's married to two different Thomas Martin's,they are one and the same, just a case of mistaken identity, trying to correct anything written in a book is almost impossible. Thomas Martin was the son of William Martin who died in 1793 in Anson Co NC, Thomas and Hester were married in Anson Co NC,they moved to Anderson Co SC in 1797 with Hester's mother Charity and her sons Joseph and Benjamin Duckworth,

Roundtree-84 and Roundtree-55 appear to represent the same person because: same husband, birth is unsourced, using data from FAG
