Marie Rose Emma Gabrielle Roy was born in Saint-Boniface on March 22, 1909.[1]
She grew up in a small French-Canadian community in St. Boniface, Manitoba. In the 1911 Census, she was the youngest of seven children. In the 1916 Census, she was the youngest of five children. In 1921, she was twelve and still living in same area.
She was a teacher and acclaimed writer.
Gabrielle Roy was a French-Canadian author.
She passed away in 1983.
Wikitree says she married Marcel Carbotte a doctor from St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1947 but no marriage documentation.
