Abraham Rundle was born about 1691 in Grenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut to parents William Rundle and Abigail Tyler. He married Rebecca Mead on 31 Mar 1721 in Greenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut. Children: Sarah, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Abigail, Mercy, Abraham, Jonathan. He died on 7 Aug 1750 in Greenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut.
Abraham Rundle was the 9th child of William Rundle, farmer, land investor, and selectman. Abraham, born 1691 and died Aug. 07, 1750, and his mother Abigail were executors of his father's estate. In the Will, Abraham received seven pounds in money "which with his trade he went to learn I think is his portion." What the trade was, we do not know.
In 1721 he married Rebecca Mead. In 1722 and 1724 he bought land from Isaac and Jacob, his younger brothers, representing their share of their father's estate. In 1738 Abraham, along with 50 others from Greenwich and Stamford joined with 636 Episcopalians from 9 towns, in a plea to the General Assembly asking that members of the Church of England in Connecticut might be excused from paying for the support of the Congregational mode of worship. Stamford Probate records say that Abraham's estate was distributed to his widow and his children Jeremiah, Abraham, Jonathan, Sara, Mary, and Abigail. However, the public record in Oct. 1751 shows debts surmounting his personal estate by 156 pounds 13 shillings 11 d. His widow Rebecca asked to sell real estate to satisfy the sum.
In Oct. 1755, David Lockwood petitioned the Assembly to recover from Abraham's heirs monies borrowed by him from Capt. John Lyon.
Probate records indicate that Jeremiah1 the eldest son, received the house, barn, home lot and other real estate valued at 667 pounds, 6 shillings. Rebecca, his mother, had use of what he received for her natural life plus Abraham's personal property valued at 75 pounds, 3 shillings. Each other child received a share of the estate valued at 333 pounds, 13 shillings.

E. V. (Ned) Randall Jr., informs us with documents that Jonathan, last son of Abraham, removed to Harlem (now in city of New York). He changed his name to Randell. Nov. 29, 1784 he purchased Randell's Island in the East River for 2,400 pounds. His heirs sold it to the Corporation of New York in 1835 for $50,000.00. Now one of the city's institutions exists there. (Riker's HARLEM pg. 606).
