Biography

Jeremiah was born in 1773. Jeremiah Runkle ... He passed away in 1854. Mr. Runkle's first wife was Christina Runkle (a distant cousin). They were married February 17, 1796 in Augusta County, Virginia.

He married Christina Robinolt-Solt December 9, 1828 in Northhampton, Pennsylvania.

Research Notes

Removed Ludwig Runkle and Barbara Dubs as parents (06/14/23).

An unnamed father, possibly a son of Peter Runkle's lived in Virginia was was a soldier in the Revolutionary Army and had at least four children:

  • Jeremiah (b. 1776; settled in Fairfield County and then Perry County, OH; married his cousin Christina Runkle [daughter of Lewis] by whom he had 13 children; also married Christina Sult by whom he had four children)
  • Nelly (went with Jeremiah to Ohio, but returned to Virginia)
  • Nancy (went with Jeremiah to Ohio, but returned to Virginia)
  • James (no additional information)[1]

  • Samuel (married Nancy Wiseman and had six children)
  • Elizabeth (married Daniel Alspach and had 11 children)
  • Catharine (married John Clouse and had six children)[2]
  • Sarah (married Daniel Woodring and had three children)
  • Daniel (married Betsy Chroninger and had three children)
  • Mary (married Noah Bowman and had seven children)
  • Susan (married John Foster; names of children not known)
  • Sophia (married John Kuntz and had two children)
  • Nancy (married John Moyer and had six children)
  • John, died unmarried
  • Jacob (1816-1882; removed from Perry County, OH, to Miami County, IN; married Anna Alspach and Mary with unknown surname; he had 10 children, five by each wife)
  • Margaret or Rebecca (married George Rarick and had two children
  • Lydia (married John P. Henderson, had eight children and lived in Toledo, IN)
  • Jeremiah (married Anna Leonard and had 11 children)[3]
  • Lucinda, died young
  • Lavina, died young
  • Peter (lived in Montpelier, Indiana; married Mary M. Bevington and had three children: Cary R., Charles S., and Essie E.)[4]
