Biography

Ezra Bartlett, b. Aug. 4, 1847; m. Ella J. Merrill, of Bradford, Vt., Sept. 7, 1871, and settled with his father in Piermont.

Ezra and first wife Mary Abbie Howe settled after marriage in a house on his Father's farm located about 100 Yards south of parents house working with his Father as a farmer.

Emigrated to Penacook NH about 1880 to work in the Cotton Millers there., Managed a wood yard for many years. Also worked in the Rolfe Sash and Blind Shop and lastly, in the Harris Woolen Mills.

The Arthur Runnels farm on the main road from Piermont to Haverhill about two miles north of Piermont on right side at the top of a long grade. The small house occupied by Ezra after marriage was standing about 25 years ago (this note written in 1969 by Elmer Carl Anderson- family genealogist) but is now razed. It was abandoned for years before torn down.

Myrtie changed the spelling of her name to Runnells instead of the single L as with her father. This was the same spelling as adopted by Ezra's sister (Mary Morrill)
