Mrs. Bessie Mae Garner, age 72, Rt. 2, Magee, died Monday, November 1, 1976 following an illness of one month.
Services were held Tuesday, November 2, at 4:00 p.m. from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Sharon Cemetery. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. N. L. Wallace was the officiating minister.
Mrs. Garner was born in Smith County, June 19, 1904. She was a resident of Simpson County, a member of Concord Baptist Church and a housewife.
Survivors were 4 sons, Mr. John D. Garner and Mr. L. H. Garner, Jr., both of Magee, Mr. Jack Garner and Mr. Hugh Garner, both of Mendenhall; 1 daughter, Mrs. Virdue Hall, Magee; 3 brothers, Mr. Hinds Runnels and Mr. Charlie Runnels, both of Magee, Mr. Delos Runnels, Mt. Olive; 3 sisters, Mrs. Marzell Kennedy, Rt. 2, Magee, Mrs. Annie Lois Roberts, Prentiss, Mrs. Rachael Runnels, Mt. Olive; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
