James F. Runnels was born 08 Apr 1871in Smith County, Mississippi to J. F. Runnells of Simpson County[1].[2]

He was married to Mary C. McCallumn.[3]

He died 11 Jul 1938 in Zion Hill, Mississippi[1][4] and his widow Mary is living with her daughter Myra's family by 1940. [5]

The subject of this resolution of respect was born in the state of Mississippi in the year 1871, and departed This Life July 11th 1938. to call Brother Runnels from labor on Earth to rest and immortality in the Grand Lodge above where the Supreme Grand Master himself provides.
