Biography

Amelia Rush was in Pennsylvania, a daughter of Peter Rusch and Catherine Plains, who married June19, 1767 at the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, Philadelphia. Amelia Rush married Shadrack Claywell, Jr. Shadrack's father served as a soldier during the American Revolutionary War, and is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as DAR Ancestor #A022937. DAR records indicate that Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his sons, Shadrack Claywell, Jr. who married Amelia Rush; Joel Claywell, who married Lucinda Cain; and William Claywell, who married Maranda Scott; and of his daughter Patsy Claywell, who married Nashville "Nash" Glidewell.
