She married first Grover Cleveland Niles on 10 June 1907 in Key West in a ceremony performed by E. A. Gray, Minister.[2] The witnesses were Albert S. King and Mary C. Gray. Cleveland and Miriam divorced in 1937 in Monroe County.[3]
Miriam died on 19 February 1971 in Key West,[5] and she is buried there in the City Cemetery.[6]
