Biography

William H. Russell was born in the Bahamas in 1836, to Benjamin and Eliza Russell. He sailed to Key West, Florida in 1847 with his mother and father; two brothers, Benjamin A. and John; and one sister, Susan. A sister, Elizabeth was born later in Key West in 1849.[1][2][3]
