HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Seba Helen Russell Darby, 82, of Route 3, Box 2910, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born Feb. 1, 1917, in Sanford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Ally Young and Janie Simpson Jones Russell.

Her husband, Reuben Upton Darby II, preceded her in death.

She was a 1935 graduate of Friends School in Baltimore, and a 1939 graduate of Hood College in Frederick.

She was postmaster in Big Pool for 20 years, retiring in 1980.

She was a Quaker.

She was a member of Homemakers Club in Big Pool.

She is survived by two daughters, Dana S. Darby of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Janie D. Fox, of Hedgesville, with whom she resided; one son, Reuben U. Darby III of Hedgesville; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private. She donated her remains to Human Gift Registry of West Virginia.
