Welcome back James! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the years.
You joined long before we started sharing the New Member How-To pages with members. It has some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members.
I see that you have uploaded a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. To contact me, log into WikiTree, and go to your profile. Use the Reply link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I'll study up.
As you note, it has been a long time since I've used WikiTree. My time for genealogy waxes and wanes a lot. I have tried the GEDCOMpare process already and found it helpful in clearing up one issue in my tree.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Welcome to the family! Were really glad youre here.
I am one of a team of volunteer greeters, here to answer your questions about WikiTree.
Our Member How-To pages can help you get started adding profiles or just learning your way around.
Welcome to the community!
