Biography

Maria was born 12 March 1815 in the Bahamas.^[1] Her parentage remains uncertain. A Maria Russell was born 16 March 1815 in New Providence to Joseph and Sarah Russell and was baptized at St. Matthew's Church.^[2]

She married Matthew John Peacon circa 1837, probably in the Bahamas.^[3]

Maria died on 24 April 1899 in Key West, Florida, and she is buried there in the City Cemetery.^[4]
