Research Notes

While an actual marriage record has yet to be found, I believe it to be likely that he was married to Irene Feathers, as indicated by the sources below, based on the nearness of the locations of both William and Irene; they were in adjacent counties (Shenandoah, Frederick). Whereas the only other potential match (William Russel, with a father named James) that I've found was located in Boutetourt County, some distance away.
