Gavin Russell is a member of Russell Clan.

Gavin Russell migrated from Scotland to Australia.

I haven't been able to find a birth record for Gavin! but my family records show him as being born to Robert Russel and Janet (unknown). My calculation of his birth date; by the 1841, age 30, and 1851, age 40, Scotland census's would make his birth year as 1811 .

Gavin and Janet Hamilton, were married with the surname RUSSEL in Stonehouse ,on the 20/01/1832. Their 6 children were born & baptized, with the RUSSEL surname. It was in the 1841 census of Scotland , that the RUSSELL surname is first used for the family. ( Most probably a miss-spelling made by the census collector.) and It has remained as such.
