Biography

This profile is part of the New Haven Colony One Place Study.

William Russell married Sarah Davis [1], the daughter of William Davis and Martha Wakeman[2], They had 4 children: Samuel, Anna, John, and Noadiah. William died January 2, 1664/5.[3]

William Russell immigrated in 1639 from England.[4] He married Sarah Davis[5][6]. He died January 2, 1663/64 in New Haven.[7][8] Some sources list William Russell's death date as 24 DEC 1664. This is the date he executed his will and is not the date of his death.

There have been suggestions that William Russell had a sister, Helena, who married Henry Glover. [9] See the profile for Helena (Unknown) Glover for more information and why that is unlikely.

William Russell was born October 10, 1612 in Herefordshire, England.[10], and died January 2, 1665 in New Haven, Connecticut.[11]

William Russell, of Newhaven, wrote his will 24th of10th month 1664 (24 December 1664).[12] It was presented and proved on 7 Febraury 1664/65.[13] His inventory was taken on 28 February 1664/65.[12]
