Biography

March 1780: James Russel, member of the Session, requests the Session enquire into the report that his daughter, Mary, miscarried a bastard child to Hugh Black last summer or fall, and that Miss Jennet McMurdie injuriously asserted that "the boys who came to his house slept with his daughters and that he approved of it." Witnesses: Miss Jennet Boyd, Elizabeth McClure, Dr. Ambrose.
