William Ell Russell was born in 1810. He was the son of Chauncey Russell and Lucinda Sperry. He passed away in 1870.[1]
My mother's notes show a birth date of June 10 1810. However, no source is given. [2]
He is mentioned in the History of New Haven County, Connecticut[3]:
"Edward W. Russell, born in Orange in 1852, is a son of William Ell Russell, whose father, Chauncy, was a son of Stephen. William Ell Russell married Susan Parsons. Their children were: William C, Elford C, Betsy M. and Edward W. Edward W. has carried on the butcher business for several years, and is also engaged in farming. He is sole owner of the Tyler City Creamery, which he established in May of 1890. He is a member of Harmon Lodge, I. O. O. F., of New Haven. He owns and resides on the Colonel Piatt hotel property, where Colonel Piatt kept a hotel for many years. Mr. Russell was married in 1871 to Mary K. Bishop, of West Haven. Their children are: William E., Harry B., Bertha M., Lilla B., Lottie M., Bessie S., George L. (deceased), Daisy A., Clarence S. and Beulah K."
