Biography
Mary Elizabeth Rutherford was born March 31, 1817 in Sumner, Tennessee, United States. Her parents were John Keether Rutherford and Nancy Ann (McGuire) Rutherford. She married Robert Jefferson Holbrook (1807 - 1883) about 1843. Robert was one of the first merchants to open a store in Mt Vernon, Texas. Mary Rutherford Holbrook died August 10, 1893 and is interred at Mount Vernon City Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Franklin County Texas, USA.
