His father William Rutledge b 08-Apr1769-d11 Apr 1849 Father and Mother buried in Asbury Chapel, Muskingum Co.,OH Mary Rutledge was John mother. She was born 29 Nov 1766 died 29 Oct 1845 Muskingum Co. OH. NOTE THEY WERE COUSINS Source Jim Rutledge Family papers Jim R has. Was his GGGrandfather Please Note there is also another John Rutledge born 03 Sept 1801 in Baltimore Co. According to the Mellett and Hickman Families of Henry Co, Indiana Vol 2 page 457, According to his obituary, which I do not have a copy of, He was a descendant of the Retledge Family, two members of which sat in the continental congress, one signing the Declaration of Independence and the other the Constitution of the U.S.
