Notes from Findagrave.com:
(special thanks to C.T. Lewis for the following info) - Cinthia was born in Anderson County and died in Martin, Anderson County, SC.
She was the daughter of Jesse Rutledge and Jennie (McDavid) Rutledge the wife of Col. John Martin.
Cynthia Rutledge married John Martin and had a large family. One son, Thomas E., married his first cousin, Annie Letitia Hawthorne, daughter of Louisa Rutledge and James Hawthorn. They move to Mississippi. He must have not been very successful, for in her will, 1893, she says, "Husband to live on income but not to use it to pay debts now or any he should make." Cynthia must have had a daughter name Louisa who married a Drake, for in the 1850 Census, with her family, there is a Louisa Drake, 24, and two children - John T. and Louisa 2.
One of Cynthia Rutledge Martin's daughters married a Barnes and lived in Anderson, SC. Mr. V. M. Barnes has written me several family letter but has never mentioned the given name of his mother.
