Found in "Heads of Families- Maryland" page 65. Shows James Ryan 1 head of family (himself), 7 free white males under 16 years of age, 5 free white females. Entered into "Washington County, KY. Court Order Book 1792 - 1800," Top of page is dated September 4th, 1794. It states that "on the petition of James Ryal (probably James Ryan) for leave to erect a water fulling mill on his own land upon the Beech Fork" I have a microfilm copy from Frankfort. In James Ryans' Will James appoints sons Henry and James as executors and divides equally between his daughters Nancy Riley and Polly McAdams goods and furniture, the land and all other property to be divided between sons Henry, James, Richard, Samuel and Joseph. Debts are to be equally divided between all the children. In court land records it shows that James and Margaret McElroy sold 400 acres to James Ryan. October 7th 1800.
