I'm new to WikiTree but have been doing some family tree compiling on MyHeritage this summer. My uncle has done extensive work on our heritage on that site. I would like to move that information here for a longer term project. I have two brothers that have had DNA testing done:

Europe 100% Ireland 16% Scandinavia 14% Iberian Peninsula 8% Great Britain 5% Trace Regions 2%

My birth surname is Ryan, but I am not related to other Ryans. My father, Dudley Mudge "Tip" Ryan, took his step-father's name before he went into the AirForce. As a youth he was known by his father's surname, Dudley Haupt.

I was born in St. Paul, MN on November 17, 1957 and have lived most of my live around the Twin Cities. I am a teacher in the St. Paul School District, married and have two adult children.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Sally or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sally:

Hi Sally, it's been eleven days since I asked if you are still interested in the US Civil War Project. I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next ten days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge.

Hi Sally,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important that you read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles help page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Sally,

Since you joined, we have new How To Pages that help new members and I wondered if this may help you.

How-Tos

Please let me know if this helps or brings more questions and I will be happy to assist as needed.

Thanks, Cindy

Hi,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Sally,

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Don't forget to ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.

In case you haven't seen it, our G2G Question of the week is:

Any tidbits of information you've discovered to pass down to the next generation?

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

Have Fun!

Hi Sally,

Feel very welcome to WikiTree! I hope you will like it here as much as I do!

The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team! Feel free to explore WikiTree, and we hope you will help us to grow our BIG tree!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests at the tags (green boxes). Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
