Research Notes

  • Potential immigration record found from ship Werra, which sailed into Castle Garden on Dec. 4, 1889. Record indicates an Isidor Salamonovics, born in 1872, traveling with his father, Bernat Salamonovics, born in 1849. Both were of Austro-Hungarian origin. Isidor's birth year does not correspond to what is currently known about our Isadore (or, for that matter, the 1910 census record that has his birth year as either 1869 or 1870), but lack of other Isidor Salamonovics (or similar) records seems to indicate this is one and the same.
