Sancho García (Sancho Sáenz), V Señor de Ayala nació hacia el año de 1130 en Ayala. E don Sancho I Garcia Salcedo, que era el mediano, fue el IV Señor del Valle de Salcedo y V del Valle de Ayala. Casó con doña Maria Iñiguez de Piedrola, hija del Conde don Nuño [Nuño de Mendoza, conde de Piedrolas], a quien llamaban cuatro manos, y nieta de don Iñigo de Mendoza que murio en la batalla de Axxisto, nieto de don Lopez González de Mendoza que murio en la Forca de Badaya que era hijo del Conde de Vizcaya [Sancho López, hijo de Lope Íñiguez] que eran suyas Urcabuztaiz e las aldeas del Valle de Ardusia y Ganoles. Este don Sancho Garcia tomando la viuda de don Lope de Mendoza, su cuñado, con quien caso, hubo hijos en ella.
