Lucy Salisbury was born on October 3, 1834 in Willoughby Lake, Ohio, United States, daughter of Wilkins Jenkins Salisbury (1809–1853) and Katherine Smith (1813–1900).

Lucy (12) married Samuel Duke (18) (born in 1828 in North Carolina) on January 21, 1847 in Clark County, Missouri. Their children were:

In 1860, Lucy was living in McDonough, Illinois. [1]

Lucy died on October 18, 1892 in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa, United States, aged 58. She was buried in Webster Cemetery, Webster, Hancock County, Illinois.[2]
