Biography
Ernest Salisbury was born in 1879 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England to James Salisbury and Emma (Hemming) Salisbury. His birth was registered in Birmingham in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Hemming.[1]
In 1881 Ernest Salisbury (age 1) lived at Vere Street in Birmingham with his father James (39, Bricklayer), mother Emma (38), and five siblings: Ann (16), James (14, Errand Boy), John (12, Scholar), William (8, Scholar), and Sarah J (5, Scholar).[2]
In 1891 Ernest Salisbury (age 11, Scholar) lived in Kings Norton, Worcestershire with his father James (49, Bricklayer), mother Emma (48), and six siblings: Annie (26, Perfumery Assistant), John (22, Bricklayer), William (19, Bricklayer), Sarah (15), Henry (5, Scholar), and Albert (3).[3]
In 1901 Ernest Salesbury (age 21, Engraver on Silver) lived in Balsall Heath, Worcestershire with his father James (60, Bricklayer), mother Emma (59), and three brothers: William (24, Bricklayer), Henry (15, File Cutter), and Joseph (14).[4]
Ernest Salisbury married Theresa Maud Cole in 1904. The marriage was registered in Kings Norton in the last quarter of the year.[5]
In 1911 Ernest Salisbury (age 31, Porter for Leather Trade Industry) lived in Birmingham with his wife Theresa Maud (27), daughter Annie (3), and son Percy James (0).[6]
