Draft registration (1917-18) indicates that he worked for the U. S. Navy as a fireman for 6.5 years, was disabled and rejected for further service. He was unmarried, living at 154 E. 45 St. NYC.
After this, he apparently does not appear in public records.
It appears he leaves home shortly after 1910, joins the Navy, is injured and dies before 1920.
Bell Family has death date 30 January 1910, clearly incorrect.
