Abigail Salter was born about 1631 (aged 77 at 1708 death), possibly in/near Ottery St Mary, Devon, England.[1] She may have been a daughter of James Salter as Philip Searle was later called brother-in-law of her husband Francis Ball: on 11 September 1671, Francis Ball was fined for "entertaining his brother in law Philip Searle and his family in his house without license from the selectmen whose answer was that he was to speedily remove to Roxbury".[1]

Abigail married Francis Ball 27 January 1662/3 in Dorchester, Massachusetts.[1][2]
