Biography

Sidney George Salter was born in 1873 in Awliscombe, Devon, England to George Salter and Sarah Ann (Haycraft) Salter. His birth was registered in Honiton, Devon in the first quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Haycraft.^[1]

In 1881 Sidney G Salter (age 8) lived in Buckerell, Devon with his father George (40, Farm 60 Acres Emp 1 Man & 2 Boys), mother Sarah A (37), and seven siblings: James (15), William (13), Jane (12), Walter (10), Harry (6), Annie (3), and Alice (1).^[2]

In 1891 Sidney G Salter (age 18) lived at Summerland Place in Awliscombe with his father George (51, Farmer), mother Sarah A (47), and six siblings: William (23), Jane (21), Harry (16), Alice (11), Eva T (9), and Sarah H M (5).^[3]

Sidney George Salter (age 36, son of George Salter) married Emily May Risbridger (age 35, daughter of James Risbridger) on 18 Jan 1910 at Englefield Green, Surrey.^[4] The marriage was registered in Windsor, Berkshire in the first quarter of the year.^[5]

Sidney and Emily had two sons: Robert Sidney Antony Salter (1910-1961) and Bernard John Salter (1916-).

Sidney G Salter passed away on 9 Sep 1929, aged 57 years.
