Biography

Joseph Samson was born on 8 May and was baptized Joseph Marie on May 9, 1725 at Pointe-de-Lévy, Lauzon, Canada, Nouvelle-France.[1]

He is the son of Étienne Samson and Marie-Angélique Guay.

He married Marguerite Guay, daughter of Jean Guay and Marie-Anne Carrier, on November 24, 1756 at Pointe-de-Lévy, Lauzon, Canada, Nouvelle-France.[2]

Together they had the following known children:

  1. Joseph
  2. Pierre
  3. Louis-Gaspard
  4. Marguerite
  5. Joseph-Marie
  6. Francois
  7. Marie-Agathe

He died on September 20, at the age of 80 years, and was buried on September 22, 1804 Saint-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-De Lévy / Pointe-de-Lévy, Lauzon, Bas Canada.[3]
