Biography

Dr Sanders was on a wagon train headed to Texas. It hauled up at the ferry landing at Rodney, Mississippi (now a ghost town as the Mississippi river subsequently changed course).

The residents of St Joseph, Tensas Parish, Louisiana were suffering cholera. They heard that there was a doctor in the wagon train, and sent someone over to ask for help.

Dr Sanders went over, but contracted cholera. Dying, he instructed his wife to turn around and go home to Leake County, Mississippi."

Yes, this profile is problematic and needs further research. It isn't the only Saunders/Sanders profile with issues. I have taken responsibility for several of these orphaned profiles. Hopefully, with help from other Sanders researchers, the kinks can be worked out, at least to to a reasonable level.
