Biography
Martha Jennie Sanders was born November 4, 1876 in Hornsby, Hardeman, TN to George Washington Sanders and Nancy Amanda Martin. She was the second of seven known children.
She married Alvin L Rowland on November 27, 1892. She was 16 and he was 36. They had 7 children together before his death in 1919. She then married James Jernigan on October 17, 1920.
She died May 31, 1927 at the age of 50 in Riply, Tippah County MS. She was buried at Shiloh Independent Methodist Church Cemetery .
