Caroline, affectionately called Lizzie, died during the period from 1894 to 1900. The exact date has not been determined. It’s likely her husband, Henry G. Shaffer, also died during this period. Their only son was raised by Lizzie’s sister, Cora (Sanders) Nordeck. The burial locations of Caroline and Henry have not been discovered. They may be buried in the John S. Sanders Farm Cemetery in graves marked with common field stones.
