Biography
Robert Sanderson was born in 1738, a son of George Sanderson, who wrote his Will on November 11, 1775. It was proven May 22, 1797 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Robert lived about two and a half miles northwest of Carlisle, adjoining the Meeting House Springs graveyard. He owned the farm on the north side of the creek, known as the Mill Place, which adjoined lands that were occupied in 1736, the earlies on that side of the stream in that locality. Robert Sanderson wrote his Will on October 16, 1803, and he refers to his mill adjoining the lands of John Sanderson. Robert's wife was Mary (maiden name not given) [1]

Robert Sanderson is found on the First Census of newly Formed United States, taken in 1790. He is living in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania. [2] Robert died October 20, 1803 and is buried in the Meeting House Springs Cemetery, in Carlisle. [3]
