Biography

Ira was born in Mar 1842 to Isaac Sanford and Martha Harvie. On his son Charles marriage record his name is spelled Ire, however I recorded it as Ira according to his death record. [1][2]. In the Canadian 1901 Census his religion is listed as Baptist, he is living with his 13 yr. old son Charles and he is widowed. [3] According to the Canada 1911 Census, he is 69 yrs.old, living with his son Charles Sanford and his daughter-in-law Annie Laurie Trefry, and a helper, John Widden. [4] Cause of death was Senile Decay. He was buried in Center Burlington Cemetery. [5]
