Biography

Rachel Sargent was born about 1762. She is said to be the daughter of Stephen Sargent and Margaret Gold.^[1] However, there is no Rachel listed in the will of Stephen Sargent.^[2]

Rachel married Lawrence Van Hook, Jr. September 17, 1785, in Caswell, North Carolina.^[1]

Lawrence died in 1807 in Russel county, Virginia.^[1]

Rachel married as her second husband, John Gibson, July 15, 1819, in Kentucky.^[1]
