Daniel Darling Sargent was born in 1854 in Nassau, Bahamas to Daniel Sargent and Frances Anna Lockhart Sargent.

He married Minette Stafford Butler, daughter of Robert Butler and Ada Stafford Forster Butler, about 1883. The couple had children - among them Robert Butler Sargent, Daniel Sargent, and Ada Frances Sargent.

Salt merchant. US Consular Agent at Inagua.

Owner of SS Anna, built 1868, wood, registered Nassau 1871, 76′ long, 29′ wide, 6.8′ deep, 42 net, 27 gross, 50 hp, John Sargent Darling, NP.

Died at 53 years, 11 months of consumption.
