Biography

Martha Winston “Mattie” Satterwhite b. 21 Feb 1846, KY d. 4 Nov 1919, Rome, Floyd County, Georgia buried Helena, Missouri m. 1867, William E. Mann in Shelby County, Illinois.

Following provded by D. Thompson: Martha Winston "Mattie" (Satterwhite) Mann may have died in GA on 4 Nov. 1919, but she is buried in the Helena, MO (Andrew Co MO) cemetery between, who I presume is her daughter, Alverda G. Mann (1878-1897), and her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Samuel Kinney (Satterwhite) Adcock and Joseph E. Adcock.

As I remember the story my grandmother told me about Martha Mann, she was visiting her sister's family in Helena and was returning home (to GA?), fell ill and died on the train. Her sister, Elizabeth had her body returned to Helena, MO for burial, where she now rests.

A picture of her and her daughter's headstones are available on Find a Grave, under "Helena, MO Cemetery, Andrew Co, MO" For more information on the Mann-Satterwhite-Adcock connections, please see my comments referring to her brother-in law "Joseph Edward Adcock".
