Biography

Grace Caroline Satterwhite b. 4 Sep 1905 VA d. 28 April 2003 m. 16 March 1929 in Salisbury, MD, L. Preston Parker. Grace was a senior in The Medical College of Virginia, Richmond in 1927. She was mentioned in the yearbook as follows: “Grace came to join our class, 1 Sep 1926 from Blue Ridge Sanatorium where she finished a two year course. She decided to increase her knowledge by entering our school of nursing for a year. She always wears a smile and has a kind word for everyone.” She was a certified tuberculosis nurse and was the superintendent of nurses at the Eastern Shore State Sanatorium.
