Julia (Saunders) Bethell is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Julia Saunders was born about 1842 - 1843 in Abaco, Bahamas to Benjamin Saunders and Elizabeth Saunders, formerly Saunders.

She married Winer Bethell about 1864 in the Bahama Islands. The couple had children Edward Willis, Robert Tracy, Lillian Edith, Julia Lois, Winer Henry, Mary Elizabeth Bethell, and Addington Alexander Bethell.

Winer Bethell died in 1901; he made Julia Executrix of his last will and testament:

".. Winer BETHELL, Merchant, of Green Turtle Cay, beloved wife Julia, Executrix. Son Robert Tracey BETHELL Executor. Leaves wife Julia all real and personal estate. Children: Edward Willis BETHELL, Robert Tracey BETHELL, Liliam Edith BETHELL, Julia Lois BETHELL, Winer Henry BETHELL, Mary Elizabeth BETHELL and Addington Alexander BETHELL as tenants in common. Signed 9 March AD, 1900. Witness John H. SWEETING and Henry SAUNDERS.."

Julia Saunders Bethell, librarian, died in 1911 in Abaco, Bahama Islands.
