Biography

Sarah Saunders was born in 1857 in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas - probably the daughter of Jeremiah Saunders and Elizabeth Jane "Eliza Jane" Lowe Saunders.

She married Governeur Cornelius Herttell, son of Thomas Governeur Herttell and Caroline Lowe Herttell, 20 August 1874 in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco at the home of Thompson and Sarah Curry. They were married by the Reverend Henry Philpot.

Sarah Saunders Herttell died 10 October 1874 of consumption in Green Turtle Cay - two months after her marriage.
