She is the daughter of Thomas Savage and Elizabeth Rutherford. Jessie was named after Jessie Scott Duncan, the oldest of two little girls who were in the care of her mother who was their governess at Canandaigua and Providence. She had died at the age of fourteen.
Jessie was an artist. She had four children.
