Biography

Flag of Essex (historic flag)
William Savil was born in Essex, England.

William Savil was born about 1604, in Saffron, Walson County, Essex, England. He was the son of William Savell (bef.1564-bef.1639) and Margaret (Parker) Savell (bef.1571-bef.1640).[1][2]

He emigrated as a single man before 1641, and worked as a joiner. His sister Anne was the wife of Samuel Basse (abt.1600-1694) in Braintree, Massachusetts, who became the executor in William's will. William was in a record.[3]

William married first about 1642 Hannah (Tidd) Savil (1629-1650), who died in 1650.[4] Her father John Tidd (abt.1600-1656) mentions her children in his will in 1656:

  1. William b. 1650

William married secondly Sarah ?, and they had a daughter Sarah born in 1654.

William married thirdly Sarah (Mullins) Faxon (bef.1622-bef.1697), widow of Thomas Gannett, on 6 November 1655.[5]

William bought a farm in Walliston in 1667, known as 'Salter's Farm'.

William Savil passed away 6 April 1669 in Braintree, Massachusetts.[6]

His will mentions wife Sarah, sons John, Samuel, Benjamin and William, and daughters Hannah and Sarah.[7]

@NI2450@ NOTE Married 2nd Sarah who died 13/5/1655. &
3rd wife was Sarah Mullins Gannett.[131]. Died 6th day 2n d mon. (VR) Child, William seems to be a problem fitting into this relationship.
Hannah Tidd died in June of 1650, but William was born in July of that year. Is there an error in recording either his birth date or his mother's death date, or does he belong to another set of parents?
