Germain was the only one of François' sons to create a family of his own, as both of his brothers died young. Germain (23) married Marie Breau (15) (born in 1662 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France; daughter of Vincent Breau and Marie Bourg) in 1678 in Port-Royal, Acadie. Germain and Marie remained at Port-Royal and had a dozen children, including five sons, all born at Port-Royal, who created families of their own. Three of their daughters married into the Blanchard, Babineau dit Deslauriers, and Poirier families.[2]Their known children were:
In 1686, at Port Royal, Germain SAVOYE [sic], aged 31, was living with his wife, Marie BARAULT [sic], aged 21 [sic], and their 2 sons: Germain, aged 5, and Francois, aged 2. They were living on 4 arpents of cultivable land with 8 cattle, 6 sheep and 5 hogs.[3]
His death was after December 1729, when he took the oath of allegiance.[4]He was a witness at the June 7, 1734 burial of his grandson Francois who died as a child.[5] He died before October 24, 1749, when his wife Marie Breau was buried, as she was noted as the widow of Germain Savoie at that time.[6]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Germain by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Savoy-740 and Savoie-15 appear to represent the same person because: Same location of birth, same estimated date of death, same sources copied from Savoie-15 into Savoy-740. Merging into Savoie which is the standard name used by Acadians Project.
Hi! I just wanted to add that Germain Savoie died sometime between 7 June 1734, when he was a witness to his grandson's burial, but before 24 October 1749 when his wife Marie Breau was buried, noted as the widow of Germain Savoie.
The Germain Savoie Jr referred to as source 10 (1714 Census) with a wife (Genevieve Babineau) and 3 sons is not wrong but should be under his own family details. His father Germain Savoie Sr. and wife (Marie Breau) mentioned in the 1714 census on same page (Microfilm C-2572, p234) had 4 boys and 1 girl
