When Desire Saxton was born on May 1, 1746, in Sheffield, Massachusetts, her father, James, was 43, and her mother, Abilena, was 36. She married Wyatt Wolcott in 1764 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. They had nine children in 19 years. She died on January 23, 1816, in Austerlitz, New York, at the age of 69, and was buried there.
